First of all, I have to apologize with each and every one of you who is gonna read my request, because of my newbie-ish
kind of need.
In fact, I think the question I'm going to post could really annoy someone here, but I do really need help and, in my research, I ONLY FOUND THIS PLACE as a qualificated one in order to answer my question... it's a simple one and I'm surprised I couldn't easily find anything surfing the net.
It is related to the Cygwin Ports
installation:
I already have the latest Cygwin
version installed in my Windows 7 and I would like to add some Ports, so I went to the http://sourceware.org/cygwinports official site and found the intructions which specify to strictly
follow their given directions exactly every time it's needed to update one's installation in order to be able to add their mirror to the list:
The instructions are:
-1. Use the current Cygwin setup.exe.
-2. Launch setup.exe, and Download Without Installing from your favourite Cygwin mirror as normal.
-3. Launch setup.exe again with the -X flag and choose Download Without Installing.
Now here's my question, about point 3: HOW CAN I LAUNCH THE SETUP EXECUTABLE SPECIFYING THE -X FLAG?
I presume I should do it by the default Cygwin
windows shell/console but what are the commands in order to do that?
I couldn' really find anything in forums, blogs, guides and web resources.
Can anyone please help me?
Thanks in advance,
Marco
