Uses RegEx to parse home pages of internet radio stations so that a complete Now Playing/On Air list (with history) can be viewed from the task tray. Also allows song and artist "seek" capabilities so that a notification is presented to the user when a saved song or artist comes on the air (similar to satellite radio). Additionally, it proposes a standard (NPML) using the existing syndication/podcasting protocols (RSS/Atom) for internet radio stations to provide the "now playing" information to aggregators like NPN without having to parse arbitrary html. This technology will allow broadcasters to provide playlist information look-ahead and/or history (with time sync) including multiple entries so that aggregators do not need to contact servers as often looking for new playlist information to provide a good experience for the end user. Finally, automatic discovery tags will be proposed which can be included in online radio station websites (similar to RSS autodiscovery), as well as discovery information contained within text tags that exist in the audio stream itself.
