The only thing I'm missing in the racktables-0.15 instance I use is virtualization support -- so that individual servers aren't opaque but containers within can benefit from NAT and assigned IP/ports handling which is so useful to track state and its changes another year after.
Problem tracking is also very helpful: one can post trouble lists and sort them out, going over the racks with not-all-green servers.
I've been using this for a few weeks. It's more than just a rack space documentation system. Also tracks and helps manage IP4 address space and physical cabling between racks.
I found a few pieces missing such as the ability to document virtualization servers sufficiently, and connections between rack kit and room services.
Basically, unless it's in a rack you can't track a device. I ended up creating pseudo-racks I called 'room' to allow this.
Overall though, a nice program but perhaps not fully complete yet.
