The SPStatus (SharePoint Status) Project has been created to solve the issue of broken links within a SharePoint Deployment. SharePoint 2003 and 2007 can store links in "Link Lists", "Content Editor Web Parts", "Link Listing" but currently does not have any facility for scanning and reporting on broken links.
The aim of SPStatus is to create a report that can be used by "Site Owners" or Portal Administrators to track down broken links. The report will also provide links to the admin pages to allow the users to correct the issue.
