Hi, After recently upgrading from AOLserver 4.5.0 to 4.5.1 and from nspostgres-4.0 to nspostgres-4.1 the server is repeatedly crashing (when it gets hammered by the google bots). The error.log has many entries like these before the server dies: [17/Nov/2010:02:18:42][700.321 8660208][-default:6195-] Notice: exiting:

Is there any (real) interest in supporting Nginx-style resumable HTTP file uploads in AOLserver? [link] [link] I don't have a need for it, but perhaps someone out there does?

Hi, Since everyone here knows that I have no ability to be nice, let me "git" to the point. GitHub sucks! It sucks because it costs money. It sucks because it doesn't use gitweb. It sucks because of poor user/group management. It sucks because it really sucks...hard! It sucks because is uses a little too much javascript.

Hi, We're having some issues with the nsmemcache module. It works perfectly fine if the string we're trying to store is regular alphabet characters, but once we try to store utf-8 chars, things starts to go awry. Has anyone had this issue before? Thanks, Levy Bajamundi Systems Developer ACSPropel

After years of saying "I really wish AOLserver had [ns_info filters] and [ns_info procs]" I finally went ahead and implemented them. You can see the change here: [link] It's only in my personal fork of aolserver on github. If people test it

Hi all, Has anyone tried compiling PHP 5.3.* as an AOLServer module and had any success? I have been experimenting this evening and I can get PHP to configure and make and even make install (it actually puts the libphp5.so in the right place) but ... [More] when I start AOLServer I get the following: Warning: modload: could not find Ns_ModuleInit in /data/dev/cosmos-engine_office _aol_com/bin/libphp5.so [Less]

Another day, another problem. ;) This time it's a somewhat more recent (but still old) OpenACS site, that has always run under AOLserver 4.0.10. Overnight it got hit pretty hard by the Yahoo crawler, and it has stopped responding. Netstat shows 117 connections, 78 in CLOSE_WAIT state and the rest in SYN_RECV.

I just posted the following to at openacs.org, and wanted to see if anyone who lurks here but not there might have any ideas: Due to unforeseen circumstances (server death :) I'm moving some very old sites to a new system running 64 bit Redhat (old ... [More] system was 32 bit). A couple of these sites were running under nsd3.3+ad13. To my great surprise most of nsd worked without having to be rebuilt, but the postgres driver did not work and I was unsuccessful at building a new one. [Less]

I'm installing a group of old OpenACS sites on a "managed server" at Rackspace and have run into a problem I just can't seem to figure out. The two sites that need to run on port 80 are unable to bind to it - I get "permission denied" errors. I've ... [More] checked all the usual things - the sites are being started by daemontools, so the prebind is done by the root user, and I do have the -b <ip>:80 in both run scripts. Judging from Google, those are the two most common errors. [Less]
