Another great piece of news for ChessX: Aleksandar Dezelin has joined the team as a new developer. After producing several patches, he will now focus on the PGN parser. Welcome Aleksandar, and keep up the good work!

From now, Qt 4.3 will be require to compile ChessX. New Qt version fixes bugs, including some important for ChessX code. So, if you like to compile ChessX yourself, remember to upgrade your Qt version.
Please report any problems with new version to the chessx-devel list or just report a bug in Project page.

Our call for new developers was not vain: Rico Zenklusen from Switzerland has joined the project and he has already started to implement the native database format to be used in ChessX. Great work Rico, and welcome!

Development was slow recently for two reasons. First, this is holiday time, even for ChessX developers. And when one returns from holidays, usually there is a lot of other work awaiting him.
Another reason is more dangerous - ChessX just doesn't have

After some problems with CVS we decided to switch to SVN.
You can get the code directly from anonymous SVN:
svn co http://chessx.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/chessx/trunk chessx
You can also browse SVN content directly via ViewVC.

Version 0.4 brings exciting new features to ChessX, as well as some bug fixes. The most obvious changes for the user is the move guess feature, online tablebase support, and some new and improved themes. Check out the changelog for more information.

Good news for current and future users of ChessX: Sean Estabrooks from Canada joined the development. He already produced some great patches which you will see in ChessX 0.4. We are waiting for more to come :-).
