Project Summary

Commando 4 is a bold entry in Pakistan's Game Industry. It is a first person shooter based on an Urdu novel by Munir Ahmed Rashid.

The motive behind the game is to create a base for 3D game development in Pakistan, which Pakistan does not have. In order to gather the dispersed game developers from Pakistan, this would play a leading role. There is no question that Pakistan lags behind India and other countries in terms of software production and export, and seems to be missing out on a massive market from which the industry can obtain great benefits and profitability. So, we want to make this game worth getting excited about and a catalyst for the industry.

It should be kept in mind that the game available is the initial version, and as such there is room for improvement. It should be taken as a bold step towards broadening Pakistan’s horizons, and should not be compared to such staple earners such as the Quake or Doom series. The game has quite a few positives, boasting a creative soundtrack and exceptional graphics.

Pakistani gamers are encouraged to join in the development of the product and start a tradition of open source in Pakistan. This would create a great gaming market in the long run and also help us further improve upon local games available.

The relevant software authorities in the country should encourage this endeavor by our team and should create ways to further facilitate such efforts. There is no doubt that Commando 4, has great potential, not only in terms of local and international marketing, but also in terms of creating a stable, piracy free, software and game industry for Pakistan.
