Project Summary

When you generate a lot of html in javascript you quickly realise why web servers separate logic and presentation with templates. Maintenance is a nightmare without it.Since I was using django on the server side I decided to implement them on the client as well. It's not a pure implementation in that I still use the django.template code on the server to parse the templates. I then use the parsed template to generate a javascript instance of the template that is passed to the client. This means that the heavy lifting involved in parsing the template is left to the server and the client simply uses the output to generate html with json context.

The project thereby consists of 2 modules.

A single view function that parses a template on the server and returns a javascript instance of the template A javascript library of template nodes. I have only implemented the bare necessities that I need for my work.
