Well, I think I managed to get something that works.  You will have to install this using the manual tab of the extension manager:   https://github.com/turnermm/Dokuwiki-Nav-Overlay/archive/m… Try it and let me know your experience.  If it works and ... [More] causes no problems in the non-mobile, I'll merge it into the master branch. One note:  To get it to resize, you have to grab the overlay at the bottom right corner. A stylus has the precision that's best to get the exact corner, though I have managed to use my finger.  If you don't get the overlay exactly at the corner, the overlay moves instead of changing size. I used an IPad. [Less]

I looked at what seemed to be a promising possiblity but it doesn't seem compatible with the plugin.  It's at    http://touchpunch.furf.com/ It may in fact be made to work, but I don't have the time/patience at the moment to investigate.  If you have some eager young programmers in your midst, perhaps they can give this a try.

It's a jQuery function and I'll look into it.  But my tests show me that it needs a mouse in the iPad, at least in mine.
