Dosbox is a full x86 emulator. It is written in C/C++ and supports sound and
dos. Main purpose of Dosbox is running old dos games on platforms which
don't have dos (i.e. win2k/XP/FreeBSD/Linux/Mac OS X)

This release is mainly a ... [More] bugfix release:

- Fix compilation on various platforms.
- Add a new, easier to port, recompiling cpu core!
- Fix hangups after playing a long time on certain hosts. (64 bit platforms, Mac OS X)
- Fix several joystick bugs.

- Improved aspect correction so it behaves like a real monitor
- Some fixes and speedups to the 64 bit recompiling core.

There were a lot of changes since ... [More] the last version and here is a short list of the larger changes:

- Faster dynamic core for certain games.
- Improve the cycle guessing code and make it default!
- Foreign keyboard layout support

There were a lot of changes since ... [More] the last version and here is a short list of the larger changes:

- 4/15/16/32 Added video capturing to avi
- Improved screen updating for more speed
- PCjr machine mode added
- Speedup cpu cores and fix endian issues
- FPU core speedup with assembly
- Improved builtin dos with umbs and better fat support
- Added VCPI emulation and fixed some issues with ems
- Improved support for booter games
- Modem and IPX support improved for multiplayer

- Shell improvements.
- Fixed various crashes.
- Fixed programs complaining about too low FILES setting.
- Fixed some CPU/FPU instructions.
- Small dos changes and fixes
- Lot's of additions to the internal debugger.
- Due to popular request, drive unmounting.
- CD-Rom and drive label improvements.
- Wave and raw OPL writing improved.

Dosbox is a full x86 emulator written in C/C++ with sound and dos. It's main use is to run old dosgames on platforms which don't have dos (win2K/XP/FreeBSD/linux).
This release greatly improves protected mode support, because of basic paging ... [More] support.
Support for older games has been improved by new renderers for tandy and hercules graphics.
