iFramesThis is the first Google code project by Dennis Chan originally initiated as an open sourced school project.
Project initiationThere are a lot of portal like web sites for users to build a customized homepage with small applications. These small applications are usually made by developers, which make the customization restricted.
The project is initiated to overcome the restriction, by the use of html element - iframe to show part of a web site. Each iframe is acted as a small application of the portal, at the same time, the users can still use the functionality of the original web site by enlarging the frame.
The screen size is restricted but not the browser itself. The iframes can be extended outside the browser like Google map which can be dragged, moved, zoomed, etc. Custom labels can also be added to find the application. The primary target of the project is to build a portal of any web sites, so users can customize and share the appearance, the applications of the portal.
