IntroductionIMDbotty is my first try as a Google Wave robot. It is pretty simple : once added to a Wave, it monitors each submitted message and looks for a URL to a movie on IMDb.
If such an URL is found, it replaces it by a small gadget that displays relevant information about the movie (title, year, cover, director(s) and actors for the moment) in a concise way.
To get this information, I manually parse IMDb, which means that my gadget will break if the website's layout changes. Do not hesitate to let me know if this is the case.
How to use IMDbotty ?Simply add email@example.com to a wave, and add a link to an IMDb movie somewhere (like http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0133093/).
