I meet the same problem as yours above. Firstly, I define a local variable A in main template, but I find I cannot transfer it to the included template. That means this variable A is not a global variable, only can work in main template namespace ... [More] , cannot cross the templates. I have a solutions below: with kajiki's special variables ${local}, you can get the global variables dictionary, in main template you can set variable A into the dict, then in included template you can get your variable A from the dict. I mean to make the special kajiki variable as your bridge betwwen main and included templates. 1.main template: ${t} dict['globals']['dev'] = dev?> 2.included template(test_template.xml) ${dev} p.s. local.dict['globals'] the bridge between templates. This should be fixed in 0.4.0; let me know if there remain any issues. Anyway, I gave this another solution and now I find the attached patch interesting. Should there be any problems, the patch might still come in handy.
