Project Keyharmonia is based on bachelor degree project "Harmonic analysis of music" of Tomáš Kubín, student of computer science on MFF UK, Prague.
The thesis considers a discrete harmonic analysis technique - the musical piece represented by musical score is partitioned into regions (bars) which are valuated by harmonical labels (harmonic function, chord) by means of previous statistical analysis of other pieces of music. This technique provides the identification of piece's underlying harmonical structure.
The aim of the work is to describe, design, and implement a method which can be used for piece's harmony approximation during its performance on a keyboard instrument (in realtime). Main use of such a technique is automatic musical accompaniment and further piece's harmonical structure study.
