SITUATION:I really like Arch Linux for its versatility and extensibility, however it takes way too much configuration to get the system from fresh install to functional desktop. I agree with the concept of 'Keeping it Simple', but there comes a point when forty minutes of configuration becomes not simple. I am also opposed to constant updates for patch fixes when stable versions exist (ie KDE 3.5 and KDE 4.0).
MISSION:KunixOS is an Arch-based Linux distribution that removes the 'bleeding-edge' from the update process (preferring sound releases instead) and provides a functional desktop from fresh install. Included in this is a different approach to the installer (using graphical installation). NOTE: There will still be the option of adding the Arch extra and community repos, but they will be disabled by default.
