The goal of this project is to incorporate solid and proven CMS design methodologies into a lightweight, robust, modular, and performance-conscious content management system that can be easily deployed on any website. It will be designed for smaller websites as a simpler alternative to the more massive CMSs without sacrificing functionality.
It will utilize an extensive user permissions system, so new user classes can be added and removed at the discretion of the administrator, and existing user classes can have their specific permissions tweaked to any circumstance.
A very flexible module plug-in system will allow for the smooth and seamless addition of new functionality as either a limited-scope module or a full-fledged application.
Websites will be fully customizable in their layouts, as the system uses the Smarty template engine to render its HTML.
jQuery will allow extensive implementation of Javascript to enhance the user experience with smooth AJAX-based interactions. This user interface will also be fully customizable to allow for users to easily navigate the site with Javascript disabled.
Further features and enhancements as the project progresses.
