Project Summary

Do you need to send network alerts to various connected devices, but want to avoid firewall and other security problems? nalert may be for you. It works by each PC running a small client which tells a central web server when they are online, and alerts can be sent to the connected devices over the HTTP or HTTPS protocol and an acceptable port (e.g. Port 80).

Although there are commercial solutions out there to solve this kind of problem, they seem to be far and few between and overpriced. This project aims to provide a robust enterprise solution free of charge for this simple task.

The client will start out only working for windows-based PC's with the .NET Framework, but hopefully in future it will be available on other platforms. (P.S. if anyone wants to volunteer to help me on this one to create cross platform clients let me know - nootn).
