Nuals - Implementación de Marching-CubesCC52B - Computación Gráfica, DCC, Universidad de ChileMarching-Cubes se trata de un algoritmo que genera superficies 3D a partir de modelos volumétricos. De forma sencilla, el algoritmo consiste en ir intersectando las distintas capas del modelo con cubos, formando los polígonos que finalmente compondrán la superficie.

Este algorimo ha sido de gran ayuda en el campo de la medicina, representando los datos entregados por Tomografías Computarizadas como superficies tridimensionales, permitiendo así realizar diagnósticos, planificaciones y simulaciones quirúrgicas.

En el presente proyecto implementaremos este algoritmo, utilizando JAVA y OpenGL.

Primer AvanceEn el primer avance se decidió implementar por ahora sólo las funciones dado que la complejidad de los archivos DICOM implican un mayor desarrollo y un mayor gasto de recursos de memoria.

Para las funciones se utiliza una clase abstracta llamada LoadableFunction que tiene un método eval, de forma de abstraerse del modelo que se cargará en el MCData.

El objeto MCData abstrae los datos, y hace transparente para el programador la fuente del modelo. En este caso, se implementará en una primera iteración las funciones.
