Project Summary

OpenTrials is a Web application for reviewing and publishing clinical trial records to increase oversight and public awareness of medical testing with human subjects. It is completely multilingual (interface and content) and it supports content versioning, keeping a full audit trail for each trial record modified after initial publication.

OpenTrials exports records compatible with the International Clinical Trials Registration Platform of the World Health Organization (ICTRP/WHO). It was designed to be used by any country willing to operate a public clinical trial registry. It is currently in production in Brazil, operated by the Ministry of Health and Fiocruz, the leading health research institution in the country. See: http://www.ensaiosclinicos.gov.br/
