And you have to construct web interface against database?
But this is new area for you or you don't wanna waste time with Java web development frameworks and other stuff because you just need web interface for processing your DB data.
I know easiest answer. OpenXava! This is simplest framework which will automatically generate for you enterprise class look and feel web interface with AJAX support.
All what you need is JPA or Hibernate annotated Java classes.
Moreover, OpenXava allows design web interfaces based on your specific needs.
Also it has a lot of other OPTIONAL functionalities for more serious java web devepment like Portlet generation support, embedded testing system and other stuff.
