Since we still have yet to release 0.6, I will provide an update on the status of the current source in the subversion trunk. We're finding things to be quite stable now with the resolution of some XCODE accounting things, and the introduction of a ... [More] new event system. We will continue to replace old, crash-prone code, and are making good headwind in our modernizations. For the time being, trunk can be considered reasonably stable and should be just fine to develop and run sites on. We'll come up with a new round of stuff to break again down the road :) (0 comments) [Less]

For the sake of being able to manage the Subversion repository easily and not having to worry about making backups or fending off attacks, we've moved the Subversion repository over to SourceForge's new Subversion service. After playing around with ... [More] it and asking around, it seems to be doing pretty well, so we're going to give it a shot. I've updated the svn wiki with the new address and instructions. See this at http://docs.btmux.com/index.php/Subversion_HowTo. I've also updated the makefiles to grab the game directory from the new location. All of the main svn projects were moved. There are a few left on the old server that may need to be moved. I'm not sure what some of the other ones were, so if there's something there you'd like on the SF repository, move it over. Dany, I didn't know which one was yours so you'll have to do that with yours.NOTE: For those that have games running from the old svn source, you'll need to redirect your client to the new address. I can't remember the command to do this, but stop by the BTMux channel and we'll get it figured out. Or someone can reply here :)Sorry for the interruption, this should be the last major shift we have to do for a very long time (hopefully). (0 comments) [Less]

The tentative date for 0.6 Beta release is friday. We have more or less stabilized things down to an acceptable level and are working to resolve the last few issues in time for release. Thanks goes out to everyone who has helped to date! (0 comments)

The fourth (and hopefully final) release candidate for the 0.6 series is now available for download. Changes include:* New stagger code (only 5 second intervals instead of 30).* New sensor code (Sesmic & Infrared changes).* Jumping/OODing handled ... [More] better.* Addition of a bunch of new softcode functions.* Mux now uses XDR database format for @restart DBs and other stuff. Will be used for more later on.* Lots of code cleanup and bug fixes.A note to those running rc3 or earlier: Don't run rc3 or earlier, upgrade now :) Will require a hcode.db rebuild, but it's well worth the trouble. Thanks goes out to all who have contributed to get us up to rc4. The codebase is becoming more stable and clean with each day. Please note that while we have done our best to test this release candidate, it is a beta release of a beta version of the source so it will most likely have issues in it. Please use the SourceForge bug tracker (http://bugs.btmux.com) and the Request for Feature Enhancement Tracker (http://rfe.btmux.com) to help improve the game. You may download BattletechMUX rc4 from http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/btonline-btech/btonline-btechmux-0.6-rc4.tbz2?downloadEnjoy! - BattletechMUX Developers (0 comments) [Less]

For those of you runnings Windows that would like to still experiment with BattletechMUX in a Linux environment without actually screwing with installing Linux, check out our new BattletechMUX VMware Image. This will run great with the free VMplayer utility.See http://docs.btmux.com/index.php/Battletech_and_VMplayer for the How-To. (0 comments)
