Project Summary

PO assistant is a gui. The user, a PO file translator, starts by opening the file. At this time, the program loads the global settings, all entries and any comments at the end of the files. After the program decides whether the format is correct and can be processed, a screen is presented for the user to edit the global settings, such as the encoding. After that, the translation begins. At each screen, one string is given and the user must translate it. She can also edit the user comments of the specific entry and choose whether this entry is fuzzy or not. There is one page for each entry, and the program moves forward, one entry per page. The user can jump to any page, using a select list. The file can be saved at any time and loaded at a future session for completion or corrections.
Note that this program does not generate PO files from scratch. This is the job of GNU gettext.
