ProtAEusPurpose:To produce an object-oriented framework and multi-platform tool suite to ease prototyping and testing of new elements and approaches in the Analytic Element Method.
Planned Features:Python implementation of a versatile Analytic Element framework. High-resolution numerical differentiation operators. Specialized subclasses for modeling in the horizontal plane. Clear dichotomy built into the framework between the models of the physics and Mathematics. Swappable solver mechanism to relate Physics to the Element model. medium term Plugins for elements defined by functions contained in a dynamic linkage library. long term Potential field / vector field visualizer. long term Automated plugin generator. Requirements:Python 2.5 Numpy 1.0.1 wxPython 2.8 unicode All features will be implemented on at least the following three platforms: Mac OS X (Leopard), Kubuntu Hardy Heron (8.04) and Microsoft Windows XP SP2.
Status:ProtAEus is still in design phase. The implementation is still subject to discussion. Any code posted until release 0.1 is subject to change.
