Project Summary

Basic PremiseThis is a true-time, on-going, web-based strategy game that will be created, played, maintained and modified by an online volunteer community.

General GameplayIn this game, a new player will begin as a tribe leader. The player will combat other players in a war for technology, land, prestige, and other key elements that may assist his soon-to-be kingdom. He may create alliances, build armies and do many various tasks you would expect to see in a strategy game (and a few you might not expect).

Key Differences to Other GamesSo what is so special about this game? The difference between this game and every other strategy game out there is that Rouge and Scepter is truly Real-Time (we call it true-time). Yes true-time...when a (computer-generated) scout is sent out on a five day quest, is takes five real days for the mission to take place. Armies that are sent out to battle must march to their destinations and ships must sail the seas and brave the winds and water for a real-length voyage.

User InterfaceThe user interface will be a command room setting. He will have the opportunity to organize forces, send couriers and generally manage his tribe (or kingdom, empire etc).

SummaryRouge and Scepter will be an online true-time strategy game full of intrigue, battle, discovery and deceit. We here at the Rouge and Scepter project welcome all web-developers, programmers, graphic designers, story writers, concept creators and all others applicable skill-possessing wanderers who may happen by our exciting new open-source project - Rouge and Scepter.

Thanks for stopping in...put up your feet and stay a while.
