The project is to implement real time voice encryption on mobile phones. A module of a much larger plan of developing secure voice communication within a closed user group. Two mobile phones with GPRS activated can communicate with each other and with a central server. The mobile-mobile connection is set up by the use of ip- address of other phone which the server will provide. UDP is used in setting up mobile-mobile connection which is a connectionless protocol. TCP is used for connection of the server with the mobile clients. Voice recorded from one phone needs to be converted to a byte array, broken into packets with necessary headers attached is sent to the other phone via the UDP connection. The received packets need to be rearranged and played on the remote mobile. A duplex communication is to be established.If full duplex is not feesible using J2ME(as has been suggested on various forums) a secure push to talk can surely be developed. Further work would include encryption of the voice byte array using Diffie hellman key exchange and blowfish algorithm. This would complete the secure voice communication and the number of clients can be increased as and when desired. Netbeans,J2ME,J2SE,MYSQL
