Project Summary

I spent a while trying to find a good program for tagging my pictures. Most of them tried to be their own media player and picture viewer, often with disastrous results. When I couldn't find anything suitable, I decided to write my own.

Tagz synchronizes well with Irfanview, a free image and media viewer. If Irfanview is installed, it is used as the default viewer and provides slideshow support. Other programs can be assigned to individual file types or as the default viewer from within the program.

Tagz v1.0.1 offers the following features: No installation necessary, program consists of a single executable and a config file Custom viewer/editor support- Associate different programs with specific file types Slideshows based on search results or selected files through Irfanview Add/Remove multiple tags from multiple files at once Search your tagged files Option to tag all new files with "tagme", a special tag that is removed as soon as any other tag is added. This allows you to easily search for untagged files. Option to scan sub folders of the current folder, adding them to the same database. Automatic saving of the Database and configuration files upon closing the program. Automatically checks for new or deleted files upon opening a database, new files are tagged and imported according to the settings you specified when the database was created. Quick to startup and shutdown, no splash screen, windows can be closed with the escape key.
