The next bug-fix release in the TorqueBox 3 series is out, TorqueBox
3.1.1! This release includes JRuby 1.7.13, fixes multipart form
submissions, and drastically reduces memory consumption when uploading
large files.

We'll continue to squash bugs in TorqueBox 3 on an
as-needed basis while still concentrating most of our efforts on the
upcoming TorqueBox 4.

The next release in the TorqueBox 3 series, 3.1.0, is out! This
releases fixes Java 8 compatibility, updates JRuby to 1.7.11, and
updates the bundled Infinispan cache version to 6.0.0. The next
TorqueBox 3 release will
... [More]
be 3.1.1 and will concentrate on fixing bugs
we bumped from 3.1.0 in order to get Java 8 support out sooner.
We're also hard at work on the all new TorqueBox 4, which we've
referred to as 'torqbox' until now. Look for an upcoming blog post
that outlines all the big changes. We're really excited to talk about
the new embedded mode and the ability to deploy TorqueBox applications
to unmodified WildFly 8...

The next bug fix release in the TorqueBox 3 series, 3.0.2, is out! We
expect this to be the last release in the 3.0.x line and work towards
a 3.1.0 release next. It's likely 3.1.0 will also be mainly bug fixes,
but
... [More]
we'll be bumping some important component versions to new major
releases so a minor version bump on our part conveys the proper risk
associated with the upcoming changes.
We'll continue to maintain the TorqueBox 3 line of releases while we
continue parallel development on the all new next-generation
TorqueBox that's been pushing the boundary on Ruby
web application performance. Keep an eye on the 'rack-jruby' results
on those...

TorqueBox 3 started us down the path of a smaller, lighter server. The
next generation of TorqueBox will take that idea to the next level,
with the entire core rewritten to offer a much smaller, simpler
out-of-the-box

experience and the ability to bring in additional
functionality as-needed. Because of the scope of this undertaking,
we're developing this next generation TorqueBox in parallel with the
current TorqueBox 3 releases.
Codename TorqBox
We're assigning the codename of TorqBox to the next generation
TorqueBox because we'll be putting out releases while development is
still active on the current generation TorqueBox 3. In fact, we've
already made a couple of stealth releases of the torqbox
gem....

After taking a brief hiatus from TorqueBox 3 development, the team got
back to work a couple of weeks ago. We originally planned for the next
TorqueBox release to be 3.1.0, but soon realized that there were
several

bugs that need addressing in 3.0.0 before we start adding in
new features. So, we give you TorqueBox 3.0.1!
What were we doing during that hiatus, you ask? We've been hard at
work brainstorming, discussing, and prototyping how TorqueBox needs to
continue to evolve to meet our users' needs. And, we've been
collecting your feedback as well. We're hoping this
work will eventually land in a TorqueBox 5.
We invite everyone to...
