WelcomeThis is the landing for the UNT TEAMs project and is my thesis work at the University of North Texas. The repository was setup as a place for me to track the project's progress.
The ConceptThis tool was created to determine the feasibility of using cellular automata in modeling geographical land use and change over time. The basic principal is to take a series of images over a time period and treat them as the time steps of a cellular automata. Each image is taken at roughly the same time increment, 1 year, and is classified using GIS software. The images I've been working with have 5 classifications: (1) water, (2) forest, (3) pasture/shrub/agriculture, (4) residential/transportation development, and (5) commercial/industrial development. After being classified the images are exported into a simple ascii file with the numbers 1-5 representing the classifications.
