Project Summary

Currently, this project is in the first phase. It takes the Wordpress 2.1 version and it's goal is to make use of all it's features, minus the branding and all of the wp-pagenames and the wp-folder names such as wp-admin, wp-login.php etc.

Once I figure out exactly how this place works concerning downloads and group activities, I will submit all the work I have done so far in the appropriate place.

Nothing has been touched yet to the "Branding Identification" of the 'wp-thepagenames', the engine names, versions, etc. Basically, the only thing modified right now is the folder names, and the coding that reflects the paths to get to those files.

Everything is functional with this version (Let's call it version 0.2.0). Some of the plugins will work out of the box, and some won't of course. The idea is to keep all of the plugins for Wordpress operational with this fork.

It does not have a name yet, so we will just call the 0.2.0 version the "Neil Young" version. Why Neil Young? Wordpress releases major versions after jazz singers. We will release ours named after guitar players of great. Neil Young was chosen first because of the "Young", it is a young project, but Neil Young was also an influence to later bands. He laid down the foundations for the bands he was in. So with that said, "Keep on Rockin the Free World", because this baby is GNU.
