Zangerland is based on the premise of a limit less world using modern technologies to take classic gaming to new heights. It aims to incorporate all the thrills and energy of old style mud playing while upgrading it for modern technology. Zangerland does NOT aim to be a modern visual game, but rather to take game design and extreme game architecture ideas to the next level. Even todays mud games still use 20 year old code bases with outdated communications mechanism and archaic storage schemes. Zangerland will use modern MySQL databases on fast hardware to create a near infinite game world and great capacity for expansion. The front end will use modern, accessible browser technologies to create real time interfaces into the game world. Several layers of interfaces are planned, including traditional text interfaces and visual, AJAX based interfaces.
