Technical Issue Help : Pacman download failure

Hi toofishes, It looks like our local copy of the repository got screwed up somehow, and we were unable to git-pull into our local copy. I went ahead and scheduled a fresh new clone of the ... [More] repository. We're still way behind on updates, but I'll bump you to the head of the queue and hopefully the job will run today. [Less]

Suggestions for Ohloh 2.0 : Suggestion by jorrit

Hi jorrit, Sorry for the silence. We're really not ignoring you -- we just get an awful lot of email these days, and we fall behind sometimes. This is absolutely a good idea. In the long run, we ... [More] hope to parse all the project repositories and branches so that we can find all activity by all of the developers. Then, in order to give a count of the current total lines of code, we'd need some indication of which branch or url represents the current trunk. This lines up very closely with what you're recommending. Technically, it will take us a while to get there, but our road map does lead to this outcome. [Less]

Feedback Forum : Ohloh listing on Wikipedia

Yeah, I think it would be perfectly fair for developers of a project to update a page about said project, but dealing with wikipedia is like tap dancing in a minefield... you gotta be real careful ... [More] where you put your feet. The whole notion of notability is biased and totally perspective orientated. As I said, if someone can get IWC up for a delete on non-notability, I wouldn't put anything past them. All it seems to take for someone question the notability of something is for someone to have not heard of you. [Less]

And to be fair, certifications aren't really any metric of ability worth using. Not these days :(

Suggestions for Ohloh 2.0 : aggregate author blogs

If ohloh allowed adding an url to a blog feed to a person's profile page, like it does for projects, then it would be possible to aggregate together blogs of people associated with a project ... [More] , producing many different Planets (like the existing Planet Gnome, Planet Debian etc). Take it one step further and allow aggregating all posts of all contributors of all projects in your stack, and the result could be quite interesting. [Less]
