PF (Packet Filter) is OpenBSD's system for filtering TCP/IP traffic, doing Network Address Translation, normalizing and conditioning TCP/IP traffic and providing bandwidth control and packet prioritization.
PF has also been ported to FreeBSD, NetBSD, and DragonFly BSD, and is an integral part of MirBSD.
The NetBSD Packages Collection (pkgsrc) is a framework for building third-party software on NetBSD and other Unix-like systems, currently containing over 6400 packages. It is used to enable freely available software to be configured and built easily on supported platforms.
pkgin is aimed at being an apt / yum like tool for managing pkgsrc binary packages. It relies on pkg_summary(5) for installation, removal and upgrade of packages and associated dependencies, using a remote repository.
