Twitter in your Profile - Pidgin pluginThis Pidgin plugin inserts your Twitter history (one or more statuses) into your profile. It updates periodically, keeping your Twitter history up to date. Version History2010-02-08Abhijeet Pathak expressed interest in working on further development ... [More] , so I added him as a project member. I do not plan to do any further work myself. v1.3.1 (2008-09-04)Don't try to set the profile of an account that isn't connected. v1.3 (2008-09-04)Do first update after all accounts that contain Twitter are connected. Don't try to update if no accounts are connected. Automatically update after setting user info. Changed documentation to reflect that as of Pidgin 2.5.0 the Windows version uses Perl 5.10. v1.2 (2008-07-21)Removed the account preference - any account that has [twitter] or [twitter X] in the user info will be used. v1.1 (2008-07-20)Use a request dialog instead of the regular plugin preferences dialog. Account is chosen as a drop-down box instead of text fields for name and protocol. An update is automatically done after preferences are saved. Fixed problem that caused "Update Now" to not work. v1.0 (2008-07-20)Initial Release AuthorAlan Lynn, September 2008 [Less]

pidgin-twitterstatus

Compare

  Analyzed 12 months ago

Use your Twitter account as your Pidgin status message.New to 0.4.0Support for updating multiple savedstatuses (For away on idle etc.) Status format changes would be picked up even if there are no updates. Twitter status now writes to a saved status, rather than the main one. Add more debugging ... [More] information to help debugging any issues Fix print undefined purple status message Fix when no XML data is returned. Use in_reply_to_user_id XML node instead of string parsing, to detect replies. 'Advanced option' to set a regular expression, which is tested against the tweet, and discarded if matching (I, for example, set it to #twitter, so that twitter specific tweets are ignored) If the first status is not suitable, go for the second, and so on... If the user changes status after we set it, don't trash the changes, unless we have a more recent update from Twitter. Only downloads diffs from Twitter from previous update using since_id: Saves bandwidth, and friendlier to Twitter servers. Stricter username checking, just reschedule timer and return instead of die'ing for invalid usernames, so that we can pickup any username changes from preferences. Use an integer for timeout preference, and remove all the string parsing 'Advanced option' to set the API root url, instead of http://twitter.com. http://identi.ca/api should work as well, though I haven't tested that much. (identi.ca support for free, thus!) Minor code cleanups: Use variables where sane instead of hardcoding, version http user agent, use strict and warnings on Perl, fix scopes of various variables. Existing FeaturesUpdate your status as frequently or infrequently as you wish. @ messages can be ignored. [Less]
