ScrewIt

Compare

  Analyzed 7 months ago

ScrewIt is a XMPP instant messenger, which makes excessive use of DBus IPC. It is splitted in two parts: the daemon and the client. The daemon is running in the background on the DBus Session Bus and does all the work. On the other side there is the client communicating with the daemon. If you ... [More] install the daemon correctly it will be autostarted once it's needed. [Less]

aimdbus

All are dbus services. you can do anything to implement,as long as your app provide the dbus interface. Features/Applications:user application can "hook" im's all ui events some app(eg. fullscreen game who take over all the screen resource need to handle them to provide input method while not ... [More] make screen blink) input method can also draw its own panel, candidate window..., while still provide a default one for "lazy" input method developer. you can actually change all aspects/internals of the structure. while still provide "methods" for convinience. Currently provide a Chinese QuWei(区位) im, and a Qt4 im module now. Great thanks to Peng Huang (shawn.p.huang@gmail.com) He is the designer and coder of ibus (http://code.google.com/p/ibus). My motivation/design is mainly inspired by his. But aimbus is just a dbus service, doesn't need any other daemon/server to run, and my interface are simple and clean :) [Less]

timberyard

Compare

TimberyardTimberyard is (going to be) a multisource log processing and reporting system. Think Nagios, MRTG, Splunk, Analog, etc rolled into one. I'm trying to modularise it as much as possible, and introduce some compatability layers to allow (eg) migration from nagios to Timberyard slowly, using ... [More] an existing Nagios install as a Timberyard data-source until it's contents are migrated. It'll be based around dbus to allow decoupling and easy extension (Want a plugin? Do it yourself in any language you like!) Current StatusJust getting going here. The first part of the work will be in getting some tools to use - the biggest of which being a workable dbus binding. There seems to have been several attempts to get one working for various projects. Any generic C++ ones seem dead, and although there are some recommended ones (eg Wengophone's), actually getting hold of them, let alone any docs was somewhat more difficult than it should have been. There's a libdbus-cpp sub-module been created. That'll hopefully grow into a fully object-oriented dbus binding that's as transparent as I can make it. ContactIf you're interested in helping or have any questions, shout at timberyard@grid-zero.net. [Less]

The dbus-broker project is an implementation of a message bus as defined by the D-Bus specification. Its aim is to provide high performance and reliability, while keeping compatibility to the D-Bus reference implementation. It is exclusively written for linux systems, and makes use of many modern ... [More] features provided by recent linux kernel releases [Less]
