This tool allows you to download or stream any iplayer programme from the BBC in H.264 (Quicktime/mp4) format, any radio programmes in RealAudio format (which is then converted to wav or mp3) and all podcasts in mp3/aac format.
A bunch of handy AppleScripts which make Paul Battley's iPlayer MP4 Downloader project easy to install and use under MacOS X. For full details of Paul's iplayer-dl script (which works very nicely due to Leopard's pre-installed implementation of Ruby), visit http://po-ru.com
NOTE: This solution
... [More] (AppleScripts) works under MacOS only!
Please ensure you read the README.txt file in the Zip archive. These scripts come with absolutely NO warranty and you use them at your own risk. We accept no liability for any damage caused to your computer or the data on it. You should make sure you understand what each of these scripts will do before triggering them. More details are included in the README.txt file.
You may wish to remove the installer script out of your scripts folder once you are up and running - this will prevent you triggering it again by mistake!
I don't really have time to maintain these scripts on any kind of ongoing basis, so if anyone else would like to take this project onwards and upwards, please get in touch. That said, if you have any suggestions or problems, please do report them via the Issues page. [Less]

Windows GUI for iPlayer DownloaderPlease note that recently there have been problems downloading iPhone/iPod shows from BBC iPlayer. Paul Battley has provided an update to his Ruby Sciipt at the address below, unfortunately I haven't had time to update my code yet to use it, sorry. I shall be
... [More] aiming to get it done by the end of the month. Sorry for the delay
iPlayerDownloader is a Windows GUI for the excellent ruby script that Paul Battley has written: http://po-ru.com/projects/iplayer-downloader/
This application will let you download and save BBC iPlayer programmes for your iPod/iPhone that are DRM free.
Requirements.Net Framework v2 Instructions For UseRun the executable iPlayerDownloader.exe Set up the your chosen download folder under Tools > Options (If you use a web proxy you will need to set this up here as well.) Go to the BBC iPlayer webpage. Select the programme you want to download and copy the URL from the address bar. Paste the URL into the URL textbox in iPlayerDownloader. Click the Add button Click the Start button. The file should start downloading to your download folder. Once you have these files you can drag them into iTunes and away you go.
N.B. You may notice that some files get added as Movies in iTuens and won't sync with your iPod/iPhone.
To fix this just select the files, go to Get Info > Options and change the Media Kind to TV Show. [Less]
