This is my ray tracing project developed in my spare time, the project name is KSlowRT, here "K" is the first letter of my name, "Slow" doesn't mean my ray tracer's performance is bad, but means the performance can always be improved(so it's always slow than it could be). KSlowRT is now CPU based ... [More] ray tracer, in the near future it will take use of the computation power of GPU, thus become a hybrid ray tracer that takes advantage of both CPU and GPU. The source code under root/kslowrt/core/ contains the implementation of core feature that my ray tracer will support. The implementation is expected not to depend on any platform API thus it should be portable, but now it does rely on Windows in threading and sychronization API, in the future I should wrap those APIs. The source code under root/kslowrt/KSlowRTViewer/ contains the basic window messages handling and use win32 GDI to display the rendered image, this part of code is designed to rely on Windows. The folder max_plugin and ViewerApp are the extensions of KSlowRTViewer, max_plugin is interactive viewer that implemented as a 3ds Max plug in, ViewerApp is a stand alone application that can load obj and kslowrt(.scn) file format.
