libcaca is a graphics library that outputs text instead of pixels, so that it can work on older video cards or text terminals. It is not unlike the famous AAlib library, with the following improvements: Unicode support, 2048 colours, dithering of colour images and advanced text canvas operations (blitting, rotations).
zzuf is a transparent application input fuzzer. Its purpose is to find bugs in applications by corrupting their user-contributed data (which more than often comes from untrusted sources on the Internet). It works by intercepting file and network operations and changing random bits in the program’s

The TOIlet project attempts to create a free replacement for the FIGlet utility. It uses the powerful libcucul library to achieve various text-based effects. TOIlet is able to load FIGlet fonts, supports Unicode input and output, colour output and various output formats (IRC, ANSI...).
neercs is a work-in-progress libcaca project.
Like GNU screen, it allows you to detach a session from a terminal, but provides unique features:
* Grabbing a process that you forgot to start inside neercs
* Great screensaver
* 3D rotating cube to switch between full screen terms
* Real time
... [More] thumbnails of your shells
* Special effects when closing a window
* Various window layouts... [Less]
