ParaView not being updated

It seems that ParaView hasn't been updated in about a month. There is an enlistment already posted about a failure to download the CVS history. I have been able to fully update it a couple of minutes ago. Do we know what the problem is?

Hi Phillipe,

It looks like we had some trouble downloading the rlog from this server. Usually this is only temporary. I've rescheduled the job, and I'll keep an eye on it today to make sure it goes through.

Thanks,
Robin

Thanks Robin.

Hi Phillipe,

We are still having problems with the rlog. We are seeing this error:

cvs rlog: failed to create lock directory for /cvsroot/ParaView/ParaView/Utilities/TclTk/TclTk8.5.0Win' (/cvsroot/ParaView/ParaView/Utilities/TclTk/TclTk8.5.0Win/#cvs.lock): Permission denied
cvs rlog: failed to obtain dir lock in repository
/cvsroot/ParaView/ParaView/Utilities/TclTk/TclTk8.5.0Win'
cvs [rlog aborted]: read lock failed - giving up

I'll give this a few more retries. Do you know if this is a temporary problem, or is something wrong with the repository?

Robin:

Ok, I know what is going on: the repository being updated is that of the old (2.6) branch, not of the current development (3) trunk: ParaView3 (as opposed to ParaView) is the repository to be used.

Here is the set of instructions (from http://www.paraview.org/New/download.html):

cvs -d :pserver:[email protected]:/cvsroot/ParaView3 login
(respond with empty password)
Follow this command by checking out the source code:
cvs -d :pserver:[email protected]:/cvsroot/ParaView3 co ParaView3

Thanks,
Philippe

Heh, OK,

It looks like we are downloading both the old and the new.

I'll simply delete the old one, and see if that clears up the problem. However, this means that contributions from the old repository will no longer appear on Ohloh.

Robin,

Yes, let's see if this clears the problem -- I think it will.

In the meantime, I am going to inquire require the status of the old repository, and will get back to you.

Thanks
Philippe
