Projects not updating

The following projects need a kick (and an improved retry algorithm, I suspect):

P.S. Please add the frigging syntax help to the post new topic page. It's getting really silly. Oh, and the edit post page.

James,

Thanks for this. That's quite a list. I'll check and see what can be done for the various projects and assess the failures in each and keep you updated here.

I'll pass on your requests for syntax help and I expect you'll be contacted for the kinds of changes needed to make the pages more transparent for you. We really don't want the pages to be obscure and sometimes an independent eyeball helps to smooth out the rough edges. We ARE listening.

Thanks!

James,

Have looked at all the projects you listed and at least for the moment, they are all back working again. The vast majority of them were plagued by bzr: ERROR: Not a branch error messages. One was a bzr: ERROR: Connection closed: Connection lost while sending request. error and one other was a local ohloh error we are attempting to debug. (On the project hosted at codeplex.) I have made a change here in the error handling process which should reschedule the Not a branch updates repeatedly for ten retries in a staggered manner in the same way we currently handle numerous other internet and repository-related failure modes. I will monitor that process to see if the projects are succeeding after rescheduling.

Please remind me here if the projects fail to properly update again.

Thanks!

Regarding the syntax help (markdown, apparently), the information currently shown where I'm writing this - the Post a Response box on the thread page - is just fine. Unfortunately, neither the post a new thread nor edit post pages show any such help or links.

As for the project list, well, it's all my personal projects hosted on a (currently) slightly unstable provider, so I'm not surprised about the slightly odd errors. What might be nice, for spotting this kind of thing, is if there was a single page that listed all current enlistment issues with all projects I'm a contributor to - it'd let me check all the projects I care about easily, since there doesn't seem to be any kind of notifications about failures.

P.S. Thanks for the quick replies!

James,

If by projects I care about you mean projects I'm a manager for, I think that would be doable. I'm thinking something like a Manager's summary page that would list the status for a logged-in user's projects for which they are a registered manager. Otherwise, any page like this which would list any projects for which you are a contributor would be unwieldy and probably not very manageable for people whose contributions have shifted over time. Besides, we need to encourage people to register as a manager somehow.

P.S. I've passed on your request to upper management and they will hopefully be in touch here if they need additional details.

Thanks!

James,

Kicking in progress. Will take a while but will start soonest.

Thanks!

P.S. The dog ate your underscores!!! There is a fix for that, I think...

James,

Many of the Bazaar repositories show Doing on-the-fly conversion from RepositoryFormat2a() to RepositoryFormatKnitPack1(). We don't handle this well and have started a re-fetch on each of these.

Please monitor what you can and keep me up-to-date if any of these fail. I will go over the rest and see what can be done.

Thanks!

James,

Looks as if all the projects listed immediately above are resolved. Let me know here if any need additional looks.

Thanks!
