Failed download for txr.

I waited three days.

Thanks.

Kaz,

The fetch failed on one of the early steps: git clone -q -n 'repository'. It is an annoying problem we have with some repositories. It depends on the versions of git on both the repo side and the ohloh side. I retried it in case it was a random failure but it is usually persistent as it was in this case. We do have a plan to address this but since we are in a period of rapid change on the website it will be a while until it is addressed.

Thanks!

Will it help if I upgrade the git installation?

Actually, that entire server is out of date; I will upgrade it.

Thanks a lot.

Kaz,

Actually I think ohloh is the one that needs the update but it's so complex since fixing one issue may break a dozen others. A newer version of git is in acceptance testing for roll-out to our servers but is taking a while to be ready for prime-time.

Thanks!

I updated the whole Debian distro on that server, which moved git from 1.5.6.5 to 1.7.2.5.

If you have a spare moment, can you restart that download to see whether the outcome changes?

Thanks.

Kaz,

Re-fetch hasn't improved things. Sorry. Will pursue this with management. Ping me here if you think it's taking too long. Once the new domain names come in (and the re-re-design), I would expect a week or two of stabilization and then they will likely get back to the bug safari.

Thanks!
