The Aegir team is pleased to announce the first release candidate for the upcoming Aegir 2.0 release. This release mainly targets a few critical bugs that were found in the second beta, mostly related to ongoing Views, Drush integration and access ... [More] control. We also introduce a number of new features and finally drop support for provisioning Drupal 5 sites completely (for real this time!). Along the way, we did quite a bit of API cleanup. While we are in feature freeze, we have continued to add some UI improvements, since they don't affect the API.read more [Less]

We have Aegir provision our sites when we want them created. Several of our developers have been having problems with the custom theme being reverted back to the default theme. Is there anything that we need to do differently? After figuring out ... [More] they were putting them in the wrong place, I have them install all themes to their sites/all/themes directory. Any assistance would be great. Thanks. [Less]

The Aegir team is pleased to announce the second stabilization (beta) release of the Aegir 2.x branch. This release mainly targets a few critical bugs that were found in the first beta, namely IP allocation on non-SSL and non-cluster sites which was ... [More] completely broken and bugs the Debian package. We also introduce a few new features and finally drop support for provisionning Drupal 5 sites completely. While we are in feature freeze, we have continued to add some UI improvements, since they don't affect the API.read more [Less]

So I have been asked if there is a way for aegir to not use passwordless ssh with keys to move files around. "if there's a way to specify what ssh program to use or what remote-copy program, either prefix it with that k5start stuff (maybe fully ... [More] qualfied: /usr/local/bin/k5start) or, if it only allows you to specify a command without arguments, then create a wrapper script that does k5start -q -U -f /path/to/keytab -- /path/to/program/that/uses/ssh ${1+"$@"} after creating the relevant principal in the Kerberos database and extracting the key read more [Less]

The Aegir team is pleased to announce the first stabilization (beta) release of the Aegir 2.x branch, after nearly 3 weeks of development since our second alpha release. While we had expected an additional alpha release prior to the beta cycle ... [More] , development on outstanding features went smoother than foreseen. We've added some significant features, and fixed a couple bugs and (again) made some important improvements to our API. This release marks our feature freeze. The intention is to limit any further changes to only critical and major bug fixes.read more [Less]

I am setting up an AEgir instance that uses 3 remote webservers (dev, stage & prod). I also have a fileserver that I want to use to store my files on (prod has write privileges, stage & dev read) since my site contains several gigabytes of ... [More] uploaded files. The fileserver is mounted on the 3 webservers at the exact same mount point. I keep stumbling upon problems when trying to set everything up like I described above. So what is the recommended way to share files over multiple webservers using AEgir without the need that they are transferred/duplicated by AEgir scripts? [Less]

I've been using Aegir to install Atrium sites without a hitch. Users self register through Aegir to spawn their own open atrium sites. Today I noticed new atrium sites failed to install. A week ago this worked fine and as far as I know nothing has ... [More] been changed with core content/modules. I did some comparisons in looking at the task log between the failed install and a successful install (from a week ago). The simplexml load and "Could not download project status information" is weird. Here's what I gathered so far. Task install log looks identical until near the end.read more [Less]
