GiftWrap moved to room giftwrap on server conference.jabber.org now. While we're all busy planning and coding the 0.2.0 release (which is coming along quite well; I'll have a post about this soon enough) we've decided to move the chatroom from the ... [More] #giftwrap channel on irc.freenode.net (IRC) to the room giftwrap on the server conference.jabber.org (Jabber). The latter requires a Jabber account - you get one automatically if you have a Google account, or you can obtain one on jabber.org. The list of desktop clients that can connect to the room is available here: http://xmpp.org/software/clients.shtml, but you can also join via your browser, no installation needed. Why move? Jabber, for one, has a better MUC (Multi User Chat) protocol. You can do text formatting (bold, italics, font size), paste text just fine, and you also get to see the scrollback history for when you missed. The recent undemocratic decision by freenode to block mibbit was also very disappointing; without any prior warnings whatsoever a very helpful service was disabled. [Less]

Download now What is GiftWrap? GiftWrap is a hassle-free way to create Ubuntu packages. It is designed for anyone who deals with distributing software - be it theme artists, software developers, or anyone else. In the future, it will support ... [More] updating of existing packages, uploading to PPA's split packages and more. It stems from the (now dead) Deb Creator project, with a complete rewrite planned in the near future. What is planned? A lot of things, including a redesign of the interface and a host of improved functionality. See the roadmap a more detailed view, or just subscribe to the news feed to stay updated. How can I help? See the contribute page. Any help is welcome, thanks! Digg it! [Less]
