Feedback Forum : You need a security metric...

Wow! We didn't know about these security vulnerability reports. It's perfect for Ohloh and definitely belongs on our reports. We will add this feature very soon. I can't thank you enough for this ... [More] feature suggestion. Feel free to send me email directly at '[email protected]' and I'll send you one of our awesome, highly-coveted Ohloh T-Shirts (as seen at OSCON 2006 in Portland). Thanks again! -jay [Less]

Technical Issue Help : Incorrect repository for Spyce; frustrated new user

Hi ellisj, I'm sorry this was frustrating. We're redesigning our project page right now, and I hope the new design will be easier to understand. I think the page you are looking for is ... [More] /projects/553/enlistments. From that page you can add a link to a new repository and delete the old one. You should not need any special permissions; if the site isn't letting you delete the old repository then this is a bug. If you have any more trouble I'd be happy to do the switch -- just send me the subversion URL and I'll take care of it. Thanks, Robin [Less]

Feedback Forum : Ohloh pages have empty <title>

By the way I discovered this when trying to modify the title of this thread which, as you may have seen, displays literal HTML entities in the page body but not in the Recent Posts box.

Feedback Forum : genshi2js statistics

HI doc, The ability to ignore sections of the source code is something that a lot of people are asking for, and it's high on our list of planned features. It's very common for projects to include ... [More] library code from somewhere else, and it's usually correct to exclude that code from the project report. I can't guarantee a timeline, but this is definitely something we plan to do. I agree that the project cost estimator is usually far too high for small open source projects. We have borrowed the simple COCOMO model, which is an old, established estimating tool that comes from the world of large, bureaucratic software processes. It assumes that you have planners, testers, writers, and a deep management tree, which is something that very few open source projects have. Also, it is most accurate for large projects with a long history, and for a project as small and new as genshi2js, it's probably wildly inaccurate. From reading the source control logs, Ohloh can make a relatively accurate measurement of the real time put in by the developers. For example, we've estimated your contribution at 2 real months. This is much more accurate than the COCOMO estimate -- but this method of estimating can't account for work that doesn't directly touch the source code, such as planning and support. In any case, we might offer an alternate calculator in the future that can be driven by actual source code activity instead of the COCOMO estimate. Thanks for your feedback -- it's very valuable to us as we plan future features. Robin [Less]

Ohloh General Discussion : Criticism

I also think that one of the editor features ought to be the ability to mark two developers as the same person. For instance if aoliver and acoliver are really the same person.

Feedback Forum : language/code base pictures have dark gray background

Using generated images sounds like a good plan. Especially as the charts are not interactive.
