No recognized commiter of that name

Hi,

I want to add myself as a committer for Mandriva Linux but when I put my username (colin) it gives me the above error... how do I glue them together?

I cannot see my commits in the list for Mandriva but I'm guessing it only tracks known users.... little help?

hi coling,

sorry for the confusing UI. The trick is to just leave the Committer name field empty (ie: don't type 'colin'). Hope this helps...

Hi Jason,

Thanks for the advice. Just wondering - if I leave the committer name blank how will Ohloh know what my mandriva user name is and associate my profile with those commits?

Colin Guthrie over 16 years ago

I should clarify. Looking at all the contributors to Mandriva (http://www.ohloh.net/projects/4547/analyses/latest/contributors?page=1) i do not see my username there at all. I'm fairly certainly not all of the others listed there have signed up here, so I figure it's automated in some capacity? Sorry for not getting this, but it would be nice to sign up here :)

OK, so I added my position with out a commit username. I cannot now edit and add it. Is the svn import you've done just out of date and happens to have missed all of my commits?

OK, now I'm starting to understand ... you expect your name to already be in the list of contributors, but are not finding it.

The contributor names come directly from the source control logs, so if you have contributed code, your name should be in the list.

The Mandriva report was updated an hour ago, so timeliness shouldn't be the problem.

We are compiling about 100 different Subversion URLs together to build the Mandriva report. It's possible that your commits are not among those URLs.

The list of URLs can be found here.

Most helpful for us would be a specific commit that you contributed -- a Subversion URL and revision number is best. It's possible that we're simply missing the URL that you worked on, or perhaps there is a deeper issue.
