When creating a Web service you add FTP access, a mysql database and phpmyadmin front end for the user. Install components to enable FreeWebs feature Go into Application Set center. Click on Web/groupware Install Pure-ftpd and Phpmyadmin component.   Create Your first web service Click on System/Main Parameters in the left menu. Choose Services & applications tab Click on FreeWebs icon.   Turn the service to green, define listen ports. Select Web servers tab Click on add button Set the parameters for the FTP/Mysql database credentials and give the web server name. Your web server is ready !   If you have defined a member in web server settings: Go into the Artica User panel and login has the user.   If the user has web servers affected a new tab "FreeWebs" is displayed. This can be performed if iproute2 package is already installed on your system (Installed default in Ubuntu servers). On the left menu, choose Main Parameters/Network & NICS Click on Quality Of Service icon   Click on Add a new QOS service in order to create the first "root" of your QOS service Define the container bandwith associated with your Network card A new tab is created It allow you to create container that will contains bandwith limitations from the bandwith defined for your network card and rules that enables the bandwith limitation rule.   Click on "New bandwith" to create a container rule. Define limits and save. Return back to this new rule, you will have a new tab called "Rules" This section allow you to define rules from source IP addresses/ports and/or destinations IP addresses/ports in order to match the bandwith rule. Dansguardian is no longer maintain According this web page : http://dansguardian.org/downloads/2/Stable/ No version has been released since 2008. In this case, there is some limitations using Dansguardian with squid 3.x : HTTP/FTP Uploads ... [More] breaks when file is up to 8Mb intermittent broken connexions. These limitations are only seen with squid 3.x, with squid 2.6/2.7 there is no such limitations but squid 2.6/2.7 are not supported by Artica. Anyway If you want to install Dansguardian and make it work with Artica you must run manually /usr/share/artica-postfix/bin/artica-make APP_DANSGUARDIAN After success installation, Artica is able to manage Dansguardian. If you want a web filter on Artica/Squid and don't care about Dansguardian, take a look of ufdbguard trough the Artica setup center. [Less]

OpenDNS is a service that provides : Reliable DNS Infrastructure Web Content Filtering Phishing Protection Basic Customization Typo Correction The first service is free and can be used in combination with Artica. The main goal of this service is to drive blacklists trough the DNS has OpenDNS answer to a faked website when request matches to a banned website category.   Create an OpenDNS account On OpenDNS web site (http://www.opendns.com), choose the desired service Click on "Sign up" button   Fill the form and set your next user name and password that will be used to open the Web management interface You will receive an email in order to confirm your account. After receive email and confirm your account, check DNS servers provided by OpenDNS. On the home page of your account, choose "Add a network"   Give your public network used by your router. (usually it is automatically detected by the main web console)   Give the label of the network (this label will be used if you use a dynamic Ip address) and check the "Yes it is dynamic" if your ISP provides dynamic IP address.   On Artica web interface, choose Web Proxy/Main parameters on the left menu. Select "Squid Network Parameters" tab. Click on DNS servers icon.   Choose OpenDNS tab. Check "Enable OpenDNS service" option. Give public DNS servers IP addresses if default values are not the correct ip addresses. If you did not have fixed public IP and your ISP provides dynamic IP addresses, activate "Enable Dynamic IP service". Set OpenDNS service credentials and define the label of the network added in the OpenDNS web console. Return to the OpenDNS web console and choose "Web content filtering" on the left menu. Define your filtering level.   Or select "custom" to choose which categories should be banned.   Wait 3 minutes Go to a banned web site from your browser (eg www.porn.com) You should see this banned web page. [More] community process in order to fill a pre-classified websites central database. The main idea is each administrator focus classification process for their own needs. When updating classification, artica server uploading automatically new websites and download classified websites uploaded by others artica servers. When updating to this new artica version, if some visited websites are not classified, a warning is displayed in the front page :     Click on the icon that display total of non-categorized websites. Select "not categorized" tab in order to display non-classified websites.You can search trough the field "search" in order to see if there is similar websites from the one you need to categorize. Click on the icon in order to open the main popup to categorize the website.   On the "Categories" tab you can check categories for the website. You can add severals categories for one website. By clicking on "Top 10 requests", the section will display best uris browsed by your users in order to help you opening web pages to understand the website content for better classification.   [Less]

At the beginning, people push data when they start to use the community ... Squid RealTime log transform requests and save them into mysql database in order to provide graphs, charts and statistics.     Purge data This section defines purge parameters in order to reduce the database size. Before deleting elements Artica can backup them on the disk in order to use them for any tasks. Purge tasks are executed every Sunday at 5h00 AM. An notification by email will be sended when after the task operation. If you need to perform purge operation before Sunday you can execute yourself this command line : /usr/share/artica-postfix/exec.mysql.build.php --squid-events-purge On the left menu, choose Web Proxy/Main Parameters Choose Events & Statistics tab Click on Artica DB maintenance. The form display events number, the first date and last date saved. Define the Max days the mysql database must store events. Choose "Backup datas before delete" if you want to backup events that will be delete into disk. In this case, specify which directory will store backup containers.   [Less]

SARG has "Squid Analysis Report Generator" is a tool that allow you to view "where" your users are going to on the Internet. It provides many informations about Squid users activities: times, bytes, sites, etc... Artica run SARG every hour, each day, each week and each month. Nothing to do schedules are added automatically. Howto Install SARG ? On the Setup center, select "Proxy softwares" Click on the "Install or Upgrade" under the Squid Analysis Report Gener... row   First Parameters. On the left menu, choose Web Proxy/Main Parameters. Select Events & statistics tab Click on SARG icon. Only the Master admin is able to display statistics. You can allow other members to access to SARG statistics by add users in the "members" section   On the "tools" section you can start the compilation manually Artica run SARG every hour, each day, each week and each month. Nothing to do schedules are added automatically.   The "events" section report each SARG execution in order to display compilation errors or execution time.   Display Statistics On the left menu, choose Web Proxy/SARG Stats.
