This wrapper ease the integration of the de facto transcoding software in a impressive way thanks to their excellent memory management and testing coverage. They have also managed to constantly stay in sync with the latest version of FFmpeg available with an original building system. As if it was not enough, they have contributed an integration layer for Red5 (Flash) applications which opens a new range of innovative applications. Excellent work guys! Keep up your good work.
Although I've just spend the last 2 weeks or so getting my video streaming application working with the help of Xuggler, it was doing something really rather complicated. :-) FFMPEG has a pretty steep learning curve; Xuggler not only flattens this curve a little, but it allows you to interact with FFMPEG from a Java application. Also provides some 'glue' classes to allow video to be fed in to the Red5 Flash server to be able to stream video out to a Flash applet via RTMP, which I've found very helpful indeed. Cheers, all involved in developing it!
