Technical Issue Help : Failed CVS fetch on cygwin

Hmm, curious. I get two different failures at the same point in the checkout, depending on OS. On both machines we are running CVSNT 2.5.03, and the command I run is: cvsnt -d ... [More] :pserver:anoncvs:[email protected]:/cvs/src checkout -D'1999/05/03 07:29:06Z' -A -d'local_directory' 'src/winsup' On my development machine (a Mac laptop running OS X 10.4), I get the following error: cvs checkout: Updating local_directory/w32api/lib/directx cvsnt checkout: in directory .: cvsnt checkout: cannot open CVS/Entries for reading: No such file or directory On a production download server, running Ubuntu 6.06, I get this error instead: cvs checkout: Updating local_directory/w32api/lib/directx cvsnt [update aborted]: Error reading from server cygwin.com: 0: File exists cvsnt [checkout aborted]: Error reading from server cygwin.com: -1: Connection reset by peer The Mac filesystem is not case-sensitive, which may explain the difference in the errors. There's something funny going on in this directory. [Less]

Suggestions for Ohloh 2.0 : You parse each file to detect its pro...

You parse each file to detect its programming language, but only the overall percentage of that is displayed as a result. I'd like to see the individual files (linked to the original RCS web frontend ... [More] , or your own), categorized by language. That would be a neat feature. I detected this when lookin at the Python project: 1% files are assembly - but what files? I couldn't find any answer to that question. [Less]

Suggestions for Ohloh 2.0 : Splitting up Drupal (contributed)

I would much rather see this continue to be reported in the aggregate. I don't think that many of the individual developers would bother to maintain an Ohloh project. I would suggest that the Drupal ... [More] community could offer support to assist with the processing and gathering of statistics, to offload CPU cycles and developer/sysadmin resources. How could we make this happen? Djun Kim (puregin [at] puregin.org) [Less]

Suggestions for Ohloh 2.0 : Project Value

Even without taking into account frameworks, it'd be very useful to see some kind of aggregated display of project cost by programming language. This would be similar in some respects, and still ... [More] provide some good information for people looking to make a decision, while relying solely on data that Ohloh already captures. To take it a step further, and to help make more of an apples-to-apples comparison, that data could even be broken down according to tags. Perhaps take only the tags which match at least 5 (or some other reasonable number of) projects on each language being compared, but show the average price for all projects that match that tag in each language. This would keep the graph a bit simpler, and make for much more realistic comparisons. [Less]

Feedback Forum : Does Ohloh distinguish between GPL and LGPL?

Robin, thanks very much for the answers. I'd assumed that the change in status was because I'd added JFreeChart (LGPL) since the previous update. I forgot that I'd also added the generated coverage ... [More] report from Cobertura to the web directory. I guess if I remove the coverage report, the project will go back to having no licence conflicts. I'll probably do that since I don't even link to the coverage report from the project page, it was just there because the test results link to it and I was using them as an example report for something else. It would be nice to be able to exclude the www directory from Ohloh's reporting. [Less]

It would be a good idea to be able to sort people who contribute to a project by their KudoRank. Also, it would be better if we could sort them by the KudoRank they have got from participating in ... [More] that project only (or from other members of that project only). [Less]

Suggestions for Ohloh 2.0 : Please add an option to send the acti...

Hi, this is a common problem when sending mail from webpages and the user has greylisting on his mta. the mail then often gets not sent because of a temporary reject on the receiving mta. the solution ... [More] is to send via true smtp and let the mtas do the job. what mail sending technique is used by ohloh? I often subscribe to pages twice, unfortunately using two nicks, one gets lost forever..., because the initial mail sent from www gets not queued and is lost for this reason. [Less]
